Starting in Drumshanbo and finishing in Manorhamilton, Sli Liatroma is a way marked trail of remarkable beauty. Narrow roads and good tracks ensure that the walk is not too difficult. Distinctive drumlins fill your horizons on the first part of this walk until Sliabh an Iarainn slowly assumes a dominant presence, right. A flavour of travel before the motor car can be appreciated as this old coach road plunges and climbs over the broad shoulder of Sliabh an Iarainn, which carries it. After the Stoney River crossing, views of Lough Allen, become more frequent, left. The Chieftain's Grave at Cleighran More, right, is an ancient passage grave. A picnic site, right, contains a sweathouse and Tobar Bheo-Aoda (a holy well). Sweathouses are a feature of this part of Ireland. They were ancient saunas and their purpose was to sweat disease from ailing user. At Dowra the walk joins the Cavan Way, which threads it way through the ancient Kingdom of Breffini and the archaeologically rich Burren area, south of Blacklion.
